A pair of Hawaii-based pastry chefs from the Hokulani Bake Shop in Honolulu will compete this weekend on the Food Network ’s “Cupcake Wars.”
Angela Chandler, Hokulani Bake Shop’s general manager and pastry chef, and Nicole Ferriman, the shop’s assistant general manager, will be among the cupcake bakers who “try to scare their way into the closing night VIP party for Screamfest at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood,” according to the show’s website.
Hokulani Bake Shop co-owner Tushar Dubey declined to comment, citing confidentiality agreements with the show’s producers.
But the shop’s Facebook page features a link to the pastry chefs’ audition video for the show on YouTube, and also says they will be featured on the show airing in Hawaii at 6 p.m. Sunday. The show also will air at 1 a.m. Monday and again at 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the website.
Hokulani Bake Shop is based at Waterfront Plaza’s Restaurant Row in Honolulu and also has stores at Pioneer Plaza downtown and at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki.
